Psychedelic TV

1974. The ORTF, the only tv channel in France , is divided in 3 different entities : TF1, Antenne 2 and FR3.
One year later, TFI launches its new opening and closing ID, beautiful as a "La Boca" artwork , with a music composed by Vladimir Cosma, famous french soundtrack composer. The most amazing bit of this ID is how the guys from this french tv channel, most originally from the old ORTF, had the idea to ask to the most advanced animation studio in this period ( Robert Abel and Associates who was based in California and lead by a former partner of Saul Bass) to do it. A few years later, this studio will do The Jacksons "Can You Feel It" video and most of the special effects of the movie "Tron".



In 1978, Antenne 2 replied with a series of more experimental jingles who has terrorized a whole generation of children... I don't know who has done the sound design for this one, but it really sounds like some François De Roubaix stuff...




At least, just for pleasure, this TV news ID from 1980, recently sampled by Mr Oizo on the last Ed Bangers compilation...
